Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your TowBridge account and any personal data we hold about you. TowBridge is a product of Legna Studios Inc., a multi-tenant dispatch and fleet management platform for towing operators. We honor deletion requests in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Google Play and Apple App Store policies.

Because TowBridge is a business-to-business product, individual user accounts are typically created and managed by your organization's administrator (the "Tenant Owner" or "Admin"). The right path to deletion depends on whether you are an end user or a Tenant Owner.

1. How to Request Deletion

Option A — End Users (Drivers, Dispatchers, Billing Staff, Managers)

If your account was created by your employer's TowBridge administrator, you have two ways to request deletion:

  1. Contact your organization's administrator and ask them to deactivate or delete your account. Admins can deactivate users from the TowBridge web portal under Settings → Users.
  2. Email us directly at privacy@towbridge.com from the email address on your TowBridge account. Please include:
    • Your full name as it appears on your TowBridge account
    • The email address associated with your account
    • The name of your employer (the TowBridge tenant)
    • A clear statement that you are requesting account and data deletion

Option B — Tenant Owners (Account Administrators)

If you are the Tenant Owner (the account holder for your towing company), you can request full deletion of your organization's TowBridge account and all associated data:

  1. Email privacy@towbridge.com from the email address registered as the Tenant Owner.
  2. Include your company name, account ID (if known), and a clear request to delete the tenant.
  3. We will verify your identity and confirm the request before proceeding. Once confirmed, the account is scheduled for deletion as described in Section 3.

2. What Data Is Deleted

Upon a confirmed deletion request, the following personal data is permanently removed from our production systems:

  • Profile information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, role, and login credentials
  • Authentication data: password hashes, refresh tokens, session records, and device push notification tokens
  • GPS location history: all real-time and historical location coordinates collected from the mobile app
  • In-app messages: chat messages sent or received within the platform
  • Driver-specific records: license details, assigned vehicle data, emergency contacts, and inspection authorship metadata
  • Notification history: push notification logs, email delivery logs, and SMS delivery logs
  • Activity and audit trails attributable to the user (anonymized or removed as described in Section 3)

3. What Data Is Retained (and Why)

Certain records are retained even after account deletion, where retention is required by law, regulation, or to protect the legitimate business interests of the Tenant. Retained records are anonymized where feasible — meaning they no longer identify you personally:

Where retained business records originally referenced your name (for example, the dispatcher who created a job), we replace identifying fields with a generic placeholder such as "Deleted User" before the retention period expires.

4. Timeline

  • Acknowledgement: We acknowledge deletion requests within 5 business days.
  • Identity verification: We may ask you to confirm the request from your registered email or provide additional information to verify your identity. This protects you from unauthorized deletion.
  • Production deletion: Once verified, personal data described in Section 2 is removed from production systems within 30 days.
  • Backups: Encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis and are fully cleared within an additional 30 days.
  • Confirmation: We send a final confirmation email once deletion is complete.

5. Partial Data Deletion

If you wish to delete specific categories of data (for example, your historical GPS location data) without deleting your entire account, please email privacy@towbridge.com describing what you would like removed. We will review the request against any legal retention obligations and respond within 30 days.

6. Removing the App

Uninstalling the TowBridge mobile app from your device does not delete your account or the data we have on file. To delete your data, please follow the steps in Section 1.
